Description
Death Certificate with Apostille from the Supreme Court of Seychelles
We obtain a newly issued, original Seychelles Death Certificate directly from the Civil Status Office of Seychelles. The certificate carries the official government stamps, and we then take it to the Supreme Court of Seychelles, where the Hague Apostille is affixed to it.
You receive the finished certificate as a PDF by e-mail on the day it is issued. If you need the paper original, we can send it by DHL Worldwide Express for an additional fee.
Processing takes approximately 4 to 6 business days. Optional DHL delivery adds roughly 2 to 5 business days.
For use abroad we can also request the full death extract, which carries more detail than the short certificate. Tell us when you order, or simply write to us afterwards, and we will apply for it in the same step at no extra cost.
What is a Hague Apostille?
An apostille confirms to a foreign authority that the signature and the seal on a public document are genuine. Seychelles is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, so a document carrying an apostille is accepted in the other member states without any further legalisation.
Who issues death certificates in Seychelles?
Death certificates in Seychelles are issued by the Civil Status Office, which is part of the Department of Immigration and Civil Status. The Hague Apostille is issued by the Supreme Court of Seychelles.
What we do for you
- We apply for the certificate. All we need from you is a copy of the passport of the deceased, together with the place and the date of death. You can send this by e-mail or WhatsApp, before or after placing your order.
- We obtain the apostille. Once the Civil Status Office has issued the certificate, we submit it to the Supreme Court of Seychelles, which affixes the Hague Apostille to the back of the document.
- We send it to you. You get a high quality scan by e-mail the same day. The paper original follows by DHL if you have chosen that option.
Notes and tips
- Estates, pensions and insurance files abroad almost always ask for the apostilled certificate, and often for the full extract rather than the short form.
- A death registered many decades ago may sit in the archive, and the office then needs a few days longer.
- Please check with the authority or embassy that will receive the document which form they expect, before you order.
